Main Character(s): Mena Reece is single-handedly responsible for getting her church, pastor, and everyone of her former friends and their parents sued for millions of dollars. Her parents won’t even talk to her-even though she did the right thing. Her life starts to ‘evolve’ when her biology teacher, Ms. Shepherd, partnered her to Casey(lab partner) for project work.

Plot/Summary: Following her conscience led high school freshman Mena to clash with her parents and former friends from their conservative Christian church, but might result in new friendships and more when she stands up for a teacher who refuses to include ‘Intelligent Design’ in lessons on evolution.

AN: In my opinion, this is a good read-short chapters, quirky characters etc. It lets the readers think about which we believe-science; religion; or both(is possible).

Geek High-Piper Banks

Title: Geek High(Book #1)

Author: Piper Banks

Main Character(s): Miranda Bloom is a math genius with divorced parents, an ‘evil’ stepmother and is currently single. She doesn’t fit in with the other geeks at school due to her gift.

Summary/Plot: Known as the ‘Human Calculator’, 15 year old Miranda Bloom is anything but popular, and it seems worse when she has to move in to her estranged father and his family, then is blackmailed into planning a school dance, where she will be escorted by a freshman while her stepsister dances with Miranda’s dream date.

Plot/Summary: Lissa and Rose were caught and dragged back to St. Vladimir’s Academy. Here, the girls learn to navigate through the dangerous world, confront temptation of forbidden romance, and never let their guard down to survive.

Summary/Plot: A teenage girl who is learning to be a mage must save her mysterious, magical homeland, The Kingdom, from a powerful force that is trying to control it.

Summary/Plot: 15 year old vampire Nina has been stuck for 51 years in a boring support group for vampires, and nothing exciting has ever happened to them-until one of them is murdered and the others must try to solve the crime.
